DKM Circular Shears (Manual and Motorized)
The DKM circular shear cuts round blanks and discs from flat sheet, up to Ø1000 mm and 2 mm thick. Two angled blades of special alloy steel cut the sheet while it turns around a fixed centre, so the blank comes off round.
Three motorized and manual circular cutting shears: the manual DKM 1 for thin sheet, and the motorized DKM 1.8 and DKM 2. The DKM 2 also cuts inside diameters, so it can make rings and washers in the same set-up.

DKM Design
The DKM circle shear has a welded steel body and a deep throat. The sheet is clamped at its centre and turns between two angled blades, which cut it to the set radius.
- Body: welded steel construction on all models.
- Blades: angled blades of special alloy steel.
- Blade bearings: cast-iron bushings (DKM 1), bronze bushings (DKM 1.8), rolling bearings (DKM 2).
- Drive: hand-driven on the DKM 1; braked gear motor and mobile foot pedal on the DKM 1.8 and DKM 2.
- Ring cutting: the DKM 2 cuts the inside diameter as standard; the DKM 1 and DKM 1.8 do not.

Choosing the DKM Circular Shear
Choose a circular shear by the largest blank diameter, the sheet thickness and whether you also need rings.
- DKM 1: manual circle shear for sheet up to 1 mm.
- DKM 1.8: motorized, up to 2 mm; for series of round blanks without inside cuts.
- DKM 2: motorized, up to 2 mm, with inside-diameter cutting for rings, flanges and washers; deepest throat of the range. The DKM 2 is the model chosen most often.

Frequently Asked Questions About DKM
What is a circular shear used for?
For cutting round blanks, discs and rings from flat sheet. Small workshops use it for fan and duct parts, kitchenware and blanks for pressing. Larger plants add one so small cutting jobs do not tie up their big machines.
Can the DKM cut rings?
Yes, the DKM 2 cuts the inside diameter as standard, so it makes rings and washers. The DKM 1 and DKM 1.8 cut outside diameters only.
What is the difference between a circle shear and a circle cutter?
A circle shear cuts the sheet between two rotating blades. Hand-held and drill-mounted circle cutters are for small holes in thin sheet.
Manual or motorized?
The manual DKM 1 suits thin sheet and occasional work. For 2 mm sheet or regular batches, choose the motorized DKM 1.8 or DKM 2.
What thickness can the DKM cut?
The capacities are given for mild steel (St 37): 1 mm on the DKM 1 and 2 mm on the DKM 1.8 and DKM 2. For other materials, send the grade and thickness.
Are spare blades available?
Yes. Standard blades are kept in stock; how often they need changing depends on use and on the material.
