CNC Press Brake Series

EBR METAL’s hydraulic CNC press brake series is built around three ready configurations: EPBM-ECO, EPBM-PRO and EPBM-LUX. Each combines a defined axis, control and equipment set into a single package. Instead of specifying every component individually, you choose the configuration that already covers your control, capacity and equipment needs, then confirm the details at quotation.

What Is an EPBM Hydraulic CNC Press Brake?

A press brake bends flat sheet metal between a punch and a die under controlled hydraulic force. A CNC control unit positions the ram and the backgauge. On EPBM-PRO and EPBM-LUX, it also controls the motorized crowning system. Once set, a bending program can be reused across a production run.

Finger-protection laser safety is standard across the EPBM series. A separate optional CE Package (a DSP front safety laser, PLC and rear light barriers) is available where a project or market requires it. The standard laser and the CE Package are two different things, and neither implies universal compliance for every configuration and market on its own.

If your work needs motorized backgauge positioning without this level of CNC axis and crowning control, EBR METAL’s EDBM NC press brake may be the more direct fit. EDBM is a separate hydraulic press brake that uses the same punch-and-die principle at a simpler NC control level.

Selection is application-led: force range is only one factor among several. Stroke, throat depth, part geometry, backgauge configuration, axis count and tooling can all change which configuration genuinely fits a given part — the 100–220 ton and 135–320 ton bands where ECO/PRO and PRO/LUX overlap on paper are exactly where these factors, not tonnage, decide the right choice.

Selecting by Application

All three EPBM configurations can handle a wide range of sheet-metal bends — Z-shaped bends, parts with double bends on all four sides, and many of the multi-bend components found in everyday sheet-metal manufacturing — provided the part’s geometry, stroke and daylight requirements, backgauge arrangement, axis count and tooling are suited to the machine. Suitability is not automatic across every configuration for every part; it depends on these factors together.

Practical guidance:

  • EPBM-ECO suits buyers who want CNC-controlled bending on a 3-axis standard configuration and don’t need motorized crowning or a 4th axis included as standard.
  • EPBM-PRO suits buyers whose required axes, motorized crowning, guarding and control needs are already covered by its ready standard configuration.
  • EPBM-LUX suits buyers who need additional features or a larger machine envelope beyond PRO — the decision follows the requested application and equipment, not the tonnage overlap alone.

Preparing a Quotation

To size and quote an EPBM configuration, the press brake manufacturer EBR METAL needs:

  • Material type;
  • maximum material thickness;
  • Maximum bending width/length;
  • A technical drawing, for complex or multi-bend parts.

This lets EBR METAL recommend both the machine and the appropriate upper punch and lower die. You do not need to calculate or supply an expected tonnage — EBR METAL determines this from the application data.

TANDEM and Custom Solutions

Beyond the standard EPBM configurations, EBR METAL can engineer project-dependent coordinated TANDEM press-brake solutions, as well as customized press brakes to project-specific requirements. TANDEM and custom configurations are engineered per project. Not every standard tier or size automatically supports a specific TANDEM arrangement, and final scope is confirmed with EBR METAL’s engineering team.

Frequently Asked Questions

They are three ready configurations within the EPBM family. ECO is the value-oriented 3-axis entry configuration (40–220 tons, Cybelec Touch 8). PRO adds a standard 4th axis, motorized crowning and a Cybelec Touch 12 control (100–320 tons). LUX steps up to a Cybelec Touch 15 control and the widest force range, 135 up to 1,000 tons.

Yes, on all three EPBM configurations. A separate optional CE Package (a DSP front safety laser, PLC and rear light barriers) is available where a project or market requires it.

Choose by application and required equipment rather than tonnage alone. EPBM-LUX is the right choice when you need its larger control unit, larger machine envelope or other features beyond what EPBM-PRO’s standard configuration provides.

Yes. TANDEM solutions and customized configurations are available. Scope and specification are confirmed per project with EBR METAL’s engineering team.

Material type, maximum thickness, maximum bending width/length, and a technical drawing for complex parts. Expected tonnage is not required — EBR METAL calculates it from your application.

EBR METAL’s EDBM is an NC-level hydraulic press brake for buyers who need motorized backgauge positioning without the configuration described on this page.
