MPH H-Frame Mechanical Press

The MPH H-frame mechanical press from EBR METAL is a closed-frame eccentric press for larger dies and wider beds. Two connecting rods drive an 8-way guided ram, and a speed-control unit sets the press between 70 and 180 strokes per minute.

The range has 11 models from 40 to 500 tonnes, all with a fixed 40 mm stroke. Motorised table–ram adjustment, automatic central lubrication and PLC touchscreen control are standard.

MPH Design

The MPH is the H-type eccentric press in the EBR METAL range, built on a closed, straight-side frame that is steel-fabricated as a monoblock and vibration stress-relieved. The ram runs in 8-way guides on bronze or fibre guide bearings.

Two connecting rods transfer the load to the ram. The eccentric shafts are alloy steel and the gears cast steel. The flywheel runs on rolling bearings. Four ram cushioning cylinders are standard, and the table–ram distance is shown on the touchscreen.

Daylight is the maximum table–ram distance. Strokes per minute are typical values with the speed-control unit. Other sizes and configurations are built to order.

Choosing the MPH H-Frame Mechanical Press

The MPH suits short-stroke, high-speed stamping with larger dies, where the load is spread across a wide bed. This closed frame with two connecting rods is our recommendation for precision parts that need the load spread evenly across the die. Stroke is a fixed 40 mm and the speed-control range is 70–180 spm. For an open front and an adjustable stroke up to 300 tonnes, see the MPC C-frame mechanical press. If the job needs force held through a long stroke and adjustable pressing speed, a hydraulic press is the better fit; see Hydraulic Presses.

Typical industries are automotive parts, white goods, kitchen equipment and railway components.

Two variants are built on request. Long-stroke H-type eccentric presses have a 200 mm stroke, with a single connecting rod from 125 to 300 tonnes or two connecting rods from 125 to 600 tonnes. D-type closed-frame eccentric presses add an adjustable stroke, from 80 to 300 tonnes.

Frequently Asked Questions About MPH

All standard models have a fixed 40 mm stroke. A custom stroke is available as an option, and long-stroke H-type eccentric presses with a 200 mm stroke are built on request.

Between 70 and 180 strokes per minute, set with the standard speed-control unit. These are typical values.

Most models have a pneumatic clutch-brake combination. A hydraulic clutch-brake is fitted on selected models.

Yes. A D-type closed-frame eccentric press with an adjustable stroke is built on request from 80 to 300 tonnes.

Hydraulic overload protection is an option on the MPH.
