KMH Manual Guillotine Shear with Lower-Weight Construction

The KMH is the lightest manual guillotine shear in EBR METAL’s Hand-Lever range, built with formed sheet-steel construction for 1.5 mm mild/carbon-steel thin-sheet cutting. Lower weight means easier transport between job sites.

Lower-Weight Construction for Easier Site Transport

KMH uses formed and welded sheet-steel construction for the table and legs, the lightest and simplest construction in the Hand-Lever Guillotine Shears family. At 350 kg (1050 mm model) or 370 kg (1280 mm model), KMH is significantly lighter than KMD and KMP, making it easier to move between job sites. EBR METAL’s catalogue refers to this model as the “Light Type,” reflecting its lower weight relative to KMD and KMP, not a duty-class rating.

KMH remains an industrial machine designed for anchor-bolt floor fixing, not a hand-carried tool. Correct floor anchoring is recommended for stable operation, the same as for KMD and KMP.

Cutting capacities are specified for ST37 / S235JR mild steel with approximately 370–400 N/mm² tensile strength.

1.5 mm Thin-Sheet Cutting Capacity

For HVAC and ventilation applications, KMH has a nominal cutting capacity of 1.5 mm mild/carbon steel, lower than KMD and KMP’s shared 2.0 mm capacity. That makes it well suited to thin-sheet applications.

Manual Backgauge and Cutting Features

Like KMD and KMP, the KMH is hand-lever operated and includes mechanical sheet clamping, a 0–600 mm manual back gauge, and a front set-square with millimetric ruler for angled and vertical cuts. See Hand-Lever Guillotine Shears for the full backgauge and short-strip cutting explanation.

KMH Compared to KMD and KMP

KMD and KMP are the family’s 2.0 mm alternatives, built from cast iron and welded steel respectively. KMH is the lighter option, at 1.5 mm nominal capacity and the lowest weight in the range. See Hand-Lever Guillotine Shears for the full KMD, KMP and KMH comparison.

HVAC, Ventilation and Site-Work Applications

For HVAC and ventilation applications, KMH’s lower weight and 1.5 mm thin-sheet capacity make it a practical fit for:

  • HVAC duct manufacturers and installers;
  • Ventilation contractors;
  • Gutter fabrication and installation businesses;
  • Aluminium facade and exterior fabrication work; and
  • Construction and site work where the machine needs to be moved between locations.

Blade System, Serviceability and Warranty

Like the rest of the range, KMH uses single-edged blades that can be reground repeatedly, with clearance restored by adjusting the upper blade position afterward. Replacement blades can be ordered when needed. KMH’s warranty is 2 years.

Frequently Asked Questions About KMH

KMH cuts up to 1.5 mm mild/carbon steel, lower than KMD and KMP’s shared 2.0 mm capacity.

KMH uses formed sheet-steel construction rather than cast iron (KMD) or welded steel plate (KMP), giving it the lowest weight in the family and making it easier to transport between job sites.

Yes. KMH’s lower weight and thin-sheet capacity make it a practical fit for HVAC duct manufacturing and installation, ventilation contracting, and similar site-based sheet metal work.

KMH has a lower nominal capacity (1.5 mm vs. their shared 2.0 mm) and is the lightest model in the family. KMD and KMP differ from each other only in construction material and cost, at the same 2.0 mm capacity.
