Manual Folding Machines
EBR METAL manufactures five manual folding machine series: CMD, CMF, CMP, CMH and CMK. They cover cast-iron general-purpose folding, box-and-pan brakes and portable HVAC-type folders. Each series is manually operated as standard; CMD is also available with an optional motorised top beam.

If you need a motor-driven upper beam and foot-pedal-controlled bending instead of a fully manual machine, EBR also produces the CMM motorized folding machine.
Choose Your Manual Model
CMD - Cast Iron Manual Folding Machine
A general-purpose folder with a cast-iron body and counter-balance system, available with an optional motorised top beam; not a box-and-pan machine.
CMF - Manual Box and Pan Brake
A box-and-pan folder available in two working lengths.
CMP - Manual Box and Pan Brake
A box-and-pan folder with slot-guide tooling, three working lengths and an optional segmented lower-blade configuration.
CMH - Manual HVAC Folding Machine
A portable folder for HVAC and site-use work, with working lengths from 2060 to 3060 mm.
CMK - Manual HVAC Folding Machine
A lightweight, portable folder suited to aluminium, copper and steel, and easier to transport than CMH.
CMF or CMP: Choosing Between EBR METAL's Box-and-Pan Brakes
CMF and CMP are both manual box-and-pan brakes and share a similar working range, but they’re not identical.
| Specification | CMF | CMP |
|---|---|---|
| Working lengths | 1270 / 2500 mm | 1260 / 2060 / 2560 mm |
| Max bending angle | 135° | 135° |
| Capacity | 2.0 / 1.5 mm | 2.0 / 2.0 / 1.5 mm |
| Upper blades | Interchangeable | T-channel/slot-guide interchangeable |
Capacities reflect standard carbon/mild steel (St37) sheet; other materials behave differently and should be confirmed with EBR before ordering. CMP offers three working lengths (1260, 2060 and 2560 mm) and an optional segmented lower-blade configuration for box-and-pan work. In EBR's sales experience, CMF is more commonly chosen in the Americas, while CMP is more commonly chosen in Europe and other regions. If you're not sure which fits your job, tell us your material, required bending length and maximum thickness and we'll help you choose.
Compare Manual Folding Machines
| Model | Type | Box-and-pan? | Working length range | Key distinguishing feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CMD | Cast iron, counter-balance | No | 1320–2520 mm | Optional motorised top beam and manual backgauge, each ordered independently |
| CMF | Box-and-pan brake | Yes | 1270–2500 mm | Two working lengths |
| CMP | Box-and-pan brake | Yes | 1260–2560 mm | Slot-guide tooling, three working lengths, optional segmented lower blades |
| CMH | HVAC-type, portable | No | 2060–3060 mm | Capacity 1.00–1.20 mm (model-dependent) |
| CMK | HVAC-type, portable | No | 2040–3040 mm | Lighter and easier to transport than CMH |
CMH's capacity range reflects standard carbon/mild steel (St37) sheet; other materials should be confirmed with EBR before ordering.
Finding the Right Manual Model
To help you choose the right model, EBR needs:
– Material type being bent.
– Required bending length (the length of the actual fold, not the part’s overall width).
– Maximum material thickness to be bent.
– A technical drawing, even a simple sketch, for complex or box-and-pan/tray-style bends.
– Your desired operating-method preference (manual, motorized or hydraulic) — if a motorized or hydraulic machine may suit you better, we’ll point you to CMM or CHM.
We can review a drawing or sample to confirm a job is feasible on a given model, and where the specific machine is available, we may be able to trial-run and film a requested bend — this isn’t guaranteed for every request, but we’re glad to check.
