KBT Power Trimming and Beading Machines
The KBT trimming beading machine beads and folds the edges of sheet up to 4 mm, using interchangeable rolls on two driven shafts. It is EBR METAL’s power operated bordering and trimming machine.
Two models: the KBT 2.5 for sheet up to 2.5 mm and the KBT 4.0 for sheet up to 4 mm. Both come with four standard roll sets, a braked gear motor and foot-pedal control.

KBT Design
The KBT bordering machine has two parallel shafts. The rolls on the shafts form the edge as the part passes between them.
- Frame: welded steel construction, on its own floor stand.
- Shafts: special steel, running in tapered roller bearings.
- Adjustment: the bottom roll and the sheet support move forward and backward to set the bead position.
- Roll change: the rolls are held by screws. Undo the screws, swap the roll set and tighten again.
- Drive: braked gear motor, controlled with a mobile foot pedal.
- Top roll: set by hand as standard; hydraulic up/down movement is available as an option.

Choosing a KBT Trimming Beading Machine
- KBT 2.5: sheet up to 2.5 mm, 160 mm throat.
- KBT 4.0: sheet up to 4 mm, larger rolls and a 200 mm throat for heavier parts.
- Choose the hydraulic top roll if you run long series or thick sheet and want to open and close the rolls without hand force.
Send the part drawing and material grade before choosing a machine. Throat depth and shaft length limit which operations a model can do, and the listed mild-steel capacities do not apply to stainless steel.

Frequently Asked Questions About KBT
What does a trimming beading machine do?
It beads and folds (borders) the edge of sheet and round parts between a pair of shaped rolls. Different roll sets give different profiles. It does not cut the sheet. To cut round blanks, see our circular cutting and flanging machines.
KBT 2.5 or KBT 4.0?
Choose by the thickest sheet you form: up to 2.5 mm on the KBT 2.5, up to 4 mm on the KBT 4.0.
Can you make special rolls?
Yes. Drum makers and shops forming different flange profiles often order special rolls. They are made to your profile drawing, for the KBT, KMT and KT. The standard rolls ship from stock.
What is the hydraulic top roll option?
The top roll is raised and lowered hydraulically instead of by hand. The option is available on both KBT models.
