EBR METAL builds forging machines for hot forging. The FHM pneumatic forging hammers shape hot steel with fast repeated blows, for open-die work, drawing and ornamental forging. For forging with a single, controlled stroke, our hydraulic and mechanical presses are used. For larger projects, EBR METAL engineers complete forging lines.

Hammer or Press?
- Forging hammer: many fast blows. Suited to open-die forging, drawing out, upsetting and ornamental work, where the operator shapes the part step by step. See the FHM pneumatic forging hammers.
- Hydraulic press: one controlled stroke with full force over the whole stroke. Suited to closed-die forging, piercing and deep drawing of hot parts.
- Mechanical press: fast, repeated strokes for series parts, hot forging and flash trimming.
Hot-forging customers use standard presses or ask for heating, an ejector or dies for the job; the configuration is agreed from the job details. Send the part drawing, the material and the production rate, and we will recommend the machine.

Complete Forging Lines
EBR METAL engineers complete hot-forging lines around its own presses: heating, forming, handling and finishing, laid out as one line. Lines built include shell-case production lines for the defence industry, up to 155 mm calibre, with piercing, drawing and nosing presses and manipulators.
Wrought Iron Machines
For ornamental iron work, EBR METAL supplies wrought iron machines to order: rolling machines, twisting and ring machines, basket machines, collar cutting and closing machines, jumba presses, end crushing and end folding machines, scrolling machines and furnaces. They work alongside the FHM forging hammers in a wrought iron workshop.

Which forging machine do I need?
A forging hammer for open-die and ornamental work, where the part is shaped with many blows. A hydraulic or mechanical press for closed-die forging and series parts. Send the part drawing and the material, and we will recommend the machine.
Does a pneumatic forging hammer need a compressor?
No. The FHM hammers are self-contained: a compressor cylinder inside the machine supplies the air to the working cylinder.
