HPS 4-Column Deep Drawing Hydraulic Press
The HPS from EBR METAL is a double-action deep drawing hydraulic press on four columns. The ram draws the part while a hydraulic die cushion in the bed holds the blank.
The standard range covers 8 models from 40 to 300 tonnes. Built to order, this 4-column hydraulic press goes up to 1,000 tonnes, and each one is configured to the customer’s parts.

• Capacity 40–300 t (to 1,000 t built to order) • Die cushion 15–100 t • 4 columns • Daylight up to 900 mm • PLC touchscreen

HPS Design
Four induction-hardened, chrome-plated columns guide the ram in a welded steel frame that is vibration stress-relieved. From below, the cushion cylinder acts as the blank holder. Ram and cushion stroke and force are set on the touchscreen.
Two fast-approach cylinders and a prefill valve handle the approach before the pressing stroke. Welding is certified, and precision parts are robot-welded.

Max. working pressure 250 bar on all models.
Typical speeds: approach 150 mm/s, pressing 12 mm/s, return 170 mm/s; cushion advance 30 mm/s. Speeds are typical values. The pressing speed under full rated force depends on the pump and motor configuration chosen for the application.
Other tonnages up to 1,000 t, tables and strokes are built to order.
Choosing the HPS Deep Drawing Hydraulic Press
Deep drawing results come down to press force, cushion force, speed, and a stroke long enough for the drawing depth. The HPS covers all four on a compact 4-column footprint, with 40–300 tonnes as standard and custom configurations up to 1,000 tonnes. One example is a deep drawing press project delivered to Australia. Larger tables, the 8-way guided ram of a solid welded frame, or capacities beyond 1,000 tonnes point to the HPHS H-frame press. For open-front access to the die area, see the HPC C-frame press.
The table above gives the distance between the columns: that is the usable die area, not the overall table. When you compare offers, check whether a quoted table size means the whole table or the clear area between the columns. For the same usable area, a 4-column press is not automatically the lower-cost choice.
Typical industries: kitchen equipment, white goods and automotive parts.

Request a Quote for the HPS
Send us the part material and thickness, the blank and finished-part dimensions, the drawing depth, the press and cushion force you expect, the usable table size, the stroke and the daylight, whether the press must be single- or double-action, and the planned output. If you only know the die, send its height and dimensions. If you have a drawing or a photo of the part, include it and we will propose a model and configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions About HPS
What makes the HPS a deep drawing hydraulic press?
A hydraulic die cushion in the bed holds the blank while the ram draws the part. Ram and cushion stroke and force are set on the touchscreen.
What capacities are available?
The standard models run from 40 to 300 tonnes. Larger HPS presses are built to order up to 1,000 tonnes.
Can the HPS be built single-action?
Yes. It is built without a cushion on request, with an ejector if required. A triple-action configuration adds an ejector to the double-action press.
Which hydraulic and electrical components are used?
Bosch Rexroth or Parker hydraulics and Siemens or Schneider electrics. HAWE components are also used.
Is a light curtain standard?
No. Two-hand control is standard, and the light curtain is an option. Available in a CE-conform configuration for CE markets.
