CMD Cast Iron Manual Folding Machine
The CMD is EBR METAL’s cast-iron manual folding machine, built for general-purpose bending rather than box-and-pan work. It uses a counter-balance system to reduce bending resistance and is available in three working lengths — 1320, 2020 and 2520 mm.

Construction and Standard Equipment
The CMD, manual folding machines is built on a cast-iron construction. Standard equipment includes:
– Counter-balance system, reducing bending resistance.
– Easily adjustable angle.
Optional Equipment of CMD Cast Iron Manual Folding Machine
– Motorised top beam with foot-pedal control.
– Manual backgauge with a 750 mm stroke.
Each of these two options can be ordered independently — you don’t need to add the motorised top beam to get the backgauge, or vice versa.
CMD Technical Specifications
Capacities below reflect standard carbon/mild steel (St37) sheet. Other materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium or copper, behave differently and should be confirmed with EBR before ordering.

Parts, Bending Work and Selection
CMD cast iron manual folding machine does not bend box-and-pan shapes — for that work, see CMP or CMF. CMD is EBR’s general-purpose manual folder, most often chosen for straightforward bends where a box-pan tooling system isn’t needed.
To confirm whether CMD is the right fit for your job, tell us your material, the required bending length and the maximum thickness. For complex bends, we’ll also need a technical drawing. If you’re specifying CMD out of habit rather than a confirmed need, let us know what you’re bending: depending on the job, CMP (for box-and-pan work) or CMH (for thinner, simpler bends) may be a better fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does CMD bend box-and-pan shapes?
No. CMD manual folding machine is a general-purpose folder, not a box-and-pan machine. See CMP or CMF for box-and-pan work.
What backgauge does CMD have?
No backgauge is standard. A 750 mm manual backgauge is available as an independent option.
Can I order the motorised top beam without the backgauge, or the backgauge without the motorised top beam?
Yes — each option can be ordered independently.
What material does the technical table's capacity apply to?
The listed capacities reflect standard carbon/mild steel (St37) sheet. Other materials behave differently and should be confirmed with EBR before ordering.
